This shaft type combines the strength benefits of forged material with the structural advantages of a hollow section. It is suitable for rotating equipment, drive systems, and custom machinery that require a bore through the shaft body or a reduced mass compared with a solid alternative. The forging route allows the product to be supplied with adequate wall thickness and machining allowance for accurate boring and turning. Compared with a solid shaft, this product offers a more efficient section layout where mass reduction, internal passage, or large outside diameter must be balanced with forged strength. Typical customer requirements include wall-thickness control, concentricity potential, boring allowance, and stable response during heat treatment and straightening. The forging can be supplied for further boring and turning, or in a rough-machined state when the project requires tighter control before final machining.
