Rwanda is currently undergoing a rapid industrial transformation, with a strong focus on diversifying its economy. In the metal products sector, there is a growing demand for forged short pipe components to support the expansion of urban water systems and hydroelectric power projects across the hilly terrain.
Due to the unique geographic characteristics of Rwanda, including its volcanic soils and mountainous regions, infrastructure projects require materials that can resist high pressure and corrosion. This has led to an increased reliance on imported forged pipe section elements that meet international ASTM and ASME standards to ensure safety in high-stress environments.
Currently, the local market is shifting from basic casting to high-precision forging. The adoption of forged ring and cylinder parts in the mining sector highlights a trend towards maximizing equipment lifespan and reducing downtime in the extraction of critical minerals like tantalum and tin.
